Dr George Astras established the Oncology Department and the Acute Oncology Services for the American Medical Center and the Apollonion Private Hospital in Nicosia. He is also the head of the Medical Oncology Department at the St.George & Blue Cross in Paphos. He has extensive experience in treating a multitude of cancers with his particular areas of interest to be Lung cancer, Gastrointestinal cancers, Breast Cancers, Melanomas and Soft tissue Sarcomas. Dr Astras and his team provide professional and individualized Cancer Care Services.

Dr Astras is involved in the creation of research protocols within Cyprus and the EU and he has developed a Medical Oncology Handbook for the RBH-NHS. He is also involved in teaching of medical students/nurses and doctors. Since 2004 he has reviewed more than 30,000 patients and was involved in many Phase 2 and Phase 3 Clinical trials in the UK.
