Ο Δρ. Νίκος Καρπέττας είναι Λέκτορας στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Ευρωπαϊκού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου και προσφέρει τις ιατρικές του υπηρεσίες στο ιδιωτικό του ιατρείο, συμβεβλημένος με το Γενικό Σύστημα Υγείας - ΓεΣΥ.

 

Σπούδασε ιατρική στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών (2001-2007).

 

Το 2014 ολοκλήρωσε με άριστα την διδακτορική του διατριβή (PhD) σχετικά με τα ηλεκτρονικά πιεσόμετρα, επίσης στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών.

 

Εκπαιδεύτηκε και εργάστηκε στην Καρδιολογία σε Ελλάδα, Γερμανία και Κύπρο, αποκτώντας ευρύ φάσμα γνώσεων στη σύγχρονη κλινική Καρδιολογία.

 

Μέσα από τα χρόνια εργασίας στο Κέντρο Υπέρτασης της Γ' Πανεπιστημιακής Παθολογικής Κλινικής, αποκόμισε σημαντικές γνώσεις στο πεδίο της αρτηριακής υπέρτασης (όπως επιπλεγμένη, ανθεκτική, δευτεροπαθή υπέρταση και υπέρταση σε παιδιά και εφήβους).

 

Το συνεχιζόμενο Ακαδημαϊκό και Ερευνητικό του ενδιαφέρον είχε ως αποτέλεσμα πολυάριθμες παρουσιάσεις σε ελληνικά και διεθνή συνέδρια, καθώς επίσης και δημοσιεύσεις σε διεθνή περιοδικά (δείτε εδώ), ανάμεσα σε άλλα, ως ένας από τους συγγραφείς του Διεθνούς Πρωτοκόλλου της Ευρωπαϊκής Εταιρείας Υπέρτασης για την αξιολόγηση των ηλεκτρονικών πιεσόμετρων σε ενήλικες.

 

Το Ευρωπαϊκό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου (δείτε εδώ), όπου είναι μόνιμος Λέκτορας, είναι το πρώτο πανεπιστήμιο στην Κύπρο και την Ελλάδα που αξιολογήθηκε από τoν QS TOP UNIVERSITIES (QS Stars) ο οποίος αξιολογεί, ανάμεσα σ’ άλλα, τα κορυφαία και πιο ιστορικά πανεπιστημιακά ιδρύματα στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, τον Καναδά, το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και την Ευρώπη γενικότερα. Dr. Nikos Karpettas is a Lecturer at the School of Medicine of the European University Cyprus and offers his medical services as a private Cardiologist, also contracted with the General Healthcare System - GHS (Γενικό Σύστημα Υγείας - ΓεΣΥ).

 


He has studied medicine at the University of Athens (2001-2007).

 


In 2014 he has completed with distinction his PhD thesis on electronic blood pressure measuring devices, again at the Medical School of the University of Athens.

 


He was trained and has worked in cardiology departments in Greece, Germany and Cyprus, acquiring a broad spectrum of up-to-date knowledge in clinical cardiology. 

 


Furthermore, during the years of working at the Hypertension Center of the 3rd University Department of Medicine, he has obtained invaluable experience in the field of arterial hypertension (such as complicated, resistant, secondary hypertension and hypertension in children and adolescents). 

 


His continuing Academic and Research interest has resulted in numerous presentations in Greek and international Congresses as well as publications in international peer-reviewed journals (follow link), also co-authoring the European Society of Hypertension International Protocol for the validation of blood pressure measuring devices in adults.
