Dr. Nikolaos Koumallos was born in Nicosia in 1975 and comes from Koma tou Yialu, Famagusta District. After completing his military service, he pursued medical studies at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is a certified Cardiac Surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Dr. Koumallos received advanced training at the University Hospital of South Manchester in the United Kingdom and St. Michael’s Hospital at the University of Toronto in Canada. He has specialized expertise in aortic surgery, mitral valve repair, and the treatment of complex heart diseases. With extensive international experience spanning the United Kingdom, Canada, and Greece, Dr. Koumallos has performed more than 3,000 cardiac operations across the full spectrum of cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, and heart and lung transplantation.

Dr. Koumallos is a distinguished Doctor of Medicine from the Medical School of the University of Athens, with an impressive body of research and publications to his name. He serves as an editor for prestigious international medical journals and has received numerous international awards for his work. In addition to holding two postgraduate degrees, he has been an active participant in Greek and international conferences as a chairman or speaker. Dr. Koumallos is also deeply committed to medical education, having trained medical students and residents both in Greece and abroad. He is currently an associate of the Medical School of the University of Athens.

Ο Δρ. Νικόλαος Κούμαλλος γεννήθηκε στην Λευκωσία το 1975 και κατάγεται από την Κώμα του Γιαλού της Επαρχίας Αμμοχώστου. Μετά την στρατιωτική του θητεία σπούδασε Ιατρική στο Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης. Είναι πιστοποιημένος Καρδιοχειρουργός από το Κολλέγιο Χειρουργών Αγγλίας (Fellow of the Royal College of England). Εκπαιδεύτηκε στο University Hospital of South Manchester στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και στο St Michaels Hospital-University of Toronto στον Καναδά. Έχει εξειδικευθεί στην χειρουργική αορτής, στην επιδιόρθωση μιτροειδούς και στην αντιμετώπιση σύμπλοκων καρδιοπαθειών. Με εκτενή διεθνή εμπειρία στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, τον Καναδά και την Ελλάδα, ο Δρ Κούμαλλος έχει πραγματοποιήσει περισσότερες από 3.000 καρδιοχειρουργικές επεμβάσεις που καλύπτουν όλο το φάσμα της καρδιοχειρουργικής, της χειρουργικής θώρακος και της χειρουργικής μεταμοσχεύσεων καρδιάς και πνευμόνων.

Ο Δρ. Κούμαλλος είναι αριστούχος Διδάκτωρ της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών με πλούσιο συγγραφικό και ερευνητικό έργο. Είναι εκδότης έγκριτων διεθνών ιατρικών περιοδικών και εργασίες του έχουν βραβευθεί διεθνώς. Διαθέτει δύο μεταπτυχιακά και έχει συμμετάσχει σε μεγάλο αριθμό ελληνικών και διεθνών συνεδρίων ως πρόεδρος ή ομιλητής. Έχει επίσης συμμετάσχει ενεργά στην εκπαίδευση φοιτητών ιατρικής και ειδικευομένων τόσο στην Ελλάδα όσο και στο εξωτερικό και είναι συνεργάτης της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών.
