Dr. Demetriou graduated from Liverpool University Medical School in 2000. She specialised in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Internal Medicine in University Hospitals of Liverpool, Manchester completing her training at St. Thomas University Hospital, London.
She also completed Hepatology training at Kings Hospital Liver Unit in London. She has been a Member of the Royal College of Physicians since 2005 and gained her CCST in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine in 2010.
She was appointed consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist in Whipps Cross University Hospital in London and served this post until 2011 when she returned to Cyprus. Upon her return she was appointed as the Gastroenterologist at Paphos General Hospital, where she served this post for 8 years until 2019.
Since October 2019 she has been working as a Gastroenterologist in the private sector in Paphos.
Dr. Demetriou is one of the representatives for Cyprus at the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation and an elected member of the Cyprus Gastroenterology society council.
