Our office offers a wide range of services in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery both for face and body. Our services can be divided in those that require surgical intervention and those that can be done in a more conservative way without surgical incision.
Below you can read about most of these services provided. Having in mind that every intervention or treatment has its own limitations please feel free to ask whether it is suitable or not for you.
Face Lift - A full/complete facelift improves the skin and tissues of the lower two-thirds of the face, from the ears, across to the cheeks, and down to the jaw line, by removing excess fat, tightening muscles and re-draping skin.
Neck lift - The fullness under the jaw, also colloquially known as the “jowl”, can appear even at young ages. This aesthetically uncomfortable condition is a problem that affects the appearance of the person. As the age progresses, the skin of the jaw structure may lose its tightness and gets loose. Such annoying sagging problems that appear in the neck region can be solved with a neck lift. Neck lift surgeries are performed under local or general anesthesia and can sometimes be performed in combination with facelift surgeries.
Rhinoplasty – also called nose surgery or nose job, reshapes the nose by reducing or increasing the size, removing a hump, changing the shape of the tip or bridge, narrowing the span of the nostrils, or changing the angle between the nose and upper lip.
This procedure may also relieve some breathing difficulties when combined with surgery performed on the nasal septum.
Upper and/or Lower blepharoplasty
Is the removal of the loose skin and fat around the eyes in order to reduce or eliminate the fall of the eyelids. This approach can be combined with laser resurfacing or mesotherapy to reduce even more the lines and wrinkles.
Forehead lift - also called a brow lift, is a procedure that removes excess tissue, alters muscles and tightens the forehead skin. This procedure may be performed using the traditional technique, with an incision across the top of the head just behind the hairline, or with the use of an endoscope, which requires three to five short incisions, but allows access to the relevant areas to be treated incorporating a camera and a monitor to visualize the dissected areas. ·
Direct brow lift - The appearance of the brow is invested with an emotional, expressive, and psychological significance that makes it one of the most prominent features of the face. As the brow naturally descends with aging, its position often imparts undesired characteristics to the face, such as fatigue, sadness, anger, ennui, or other qualities that do not represent the individual's state of mind.
Otoplasty – also called ear surgery, sets prominent ears back closer to the head and/or reduces the size of large ears. Cosmetic ear surgery is most often performed on children between the ages of four and fourteen and may be covered by insurance. Young children are usually given general anesthesia. For older children or adults local anesthesia can be used along with sedation.
Double chin correction – is the removal of the accumulated fat from the chin. Facial liposuction has become a common cosmetic procedure, either on its own or in conjunction with facelift or other facial procedures. It consists of the removal of unwanted fatty tissue with a cannula and vacuum device promoting and improving facial shape like jaw line or even using laser lipolysis approach.
Fat Grafting – or fat transfer, also called fat grafting, fat injections and lipofilling, is a procedure that uses a person’s own fat to fill in irregularities and grooves. ·
Buccal Fat Removal –This surgery treatment can help to reduce full rounded cheeks and cheekbones can be better defined leaving patients with a slightly chiseled look. Excess fat pads located in the lower portion of the cheeks can give off the appearance of being overweight with overly full and rounded cheeks. This is sometimes referred to as ‘chip monk cheeks’, ‘chubby cheeks’, or even ‘baby face cheeks’ and can create a less than pleasing facial profile for some people. Unfortunately, the hereditary condition of excess fat in the lower cheeks, which is called buccal fat pads, cannot be reduced by exercise or diet. For patients that are dealing with this unflattering condition, a buccal fat removal surgery may be the answer. ·
Cheek Implants – will add volume and contour to cheeks that lack definition. Individuals with weak cheek structure, a narrow or flat face, or who have lost cheek contour due to the effects of age can benefit from the aesthetic enhancement that cheek augmentation can provide. The simplicity of cheek surgery and the relatively low cost of cheek implants make them an especially attractive cosmetic solution.
Lip Lift - The skin between the nose and upper lip lengthens as we age, and most doctors treat this effect by injecting the upper lip with fillers, causing it to look like it's been stung by a bee.
The upper lip lift is a small surgery where Dr Karatzias removes excess skin by creating a small scar hidden at the base of the nose. The scar is barely noticeable in older patients.
Genioplasty – is performed in men and women in order to provide a better contour of the chin either using an implant or without (fat or filler). There are two types of genioplasty, the sliding and the genioplasty with implant.
Hyaluronic Acid Treatment – (Juvederm, Restylane, Princess): Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that is capable of holding many times its weight in water, and is responsible for keeping moisture in the skin and maintaining the skin’s volume. Hyaluronic acid levels decrease due to aging, genetics, and sun exposure, causing volume depletion from the skin. When hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers are injected into or under the dermis, they replenish the skin’s volume and restores a youthfully smooth, full appearance to the skin’s surface.
Botulinum Toxin Treatment – Botox® is the registered trade name for Botulinum Type A and was the first FDA approved botulinum agent to be used for wrinkle reduction. There are now several excellent additional wrinkle reducing injectables in use, including Dysport and Xeomin. These products work by blocking communication between the nerves and the muscles in the targeted area, temporarily paralyzing the active wrinkles caused by these facial muscles. This treatment results in a more youthful and refreshed appearance and may prevent the formation of future wrinkles. ·
Threads Lift - is a safe, convenient alternative to traditional facelift surgery. Designed to be less invasive, it can reduce sagging around the cheeks, jawline, and neck more quickly and with less risk than the conventional approach. Special threads are used during this facelift to discreetly hold repositioned skin and facial tissue in place after surgery. In a Contour ThreadLift™, clear threads are used to further minimize any traces of surgery. And while thread lifts generally produce noticeable results almost immediately and with less risk and inconvenience than more intensive procedures, thread lift costs are quite reasonable compared to traditional options.
Chemical Peeling – Peeling chemicals easily absorbed by the skin can be applied to all types of skin, including sensitive skins. It is a superficial skin peeling procedure performed to provide cell regeneration in the skin. It is a procedure that helps revitalize and rejuvenate the skin, remove acnes and stains, and provide moisture balance in the skin. Especially with the chemical peeling procedure performed on oily skins, excessive sebum (oil) release of the skin is balanced, and thick skin gets thinner. It also helps prevent acne, blemish and blackhead formations.
OPERA LED mask treatment– The world renowned 'OPERA' mask is not only a low-level light therapy LED facial mask that utilizes 3 wavelengths to provide a multitude of skin rejuvenation treatments to the face and neck. It also incorporates the use of galvanic currents to further enhance results, the option of oxygen therapy and nutrient filled hydrogel masks. Benefits include a skin rejuvenation program with wrinkle reduction, Skin toning, tightening and texturing. Also provides fading of freckles, skin spots and age spots.
Theradome Hair Rejuvenation Treatment - Laser hair growth treatment, (also known as Laser Phototherapy– LPT), the most powerful and effective treatment for hair loss, is exploding on the market with the introduction of Theradome. With its world-class advanced laser hair growth technology, the FDA-cleared Theradome LH80 PRO is certainly recommended.
Multiple clinical trials prove that our powerful Theradome helmet is one of the safest and most effective hair loss treatments available. Our recommended 20-minute, twice-a-week sessions feature a hands-free and cordless operative technology to ensure hair loss treatments never burden your lifestyle.
PRP Mesotherapy – Platelet Rich Plasma treatment is a procedure, in which white blood cells and thrombocytes are separated and passed through a micro-filter, and then the resultant enriched plasma is re-injected to the patient. The pure part used in this procedure is obtained from the patient’s own blood. Therefore, PRP, a completely natural method, accelerates the healing process of the tissue. ·
Cryopen application – Is a fast, effective and safe solution for removing brown spots and skin imperfections. A fine cold spray is administered with a pen-like device under high pressure on the lesion or spot. This application destroys the tissue by freezing the inter-cellular fluid only in the damaged cells with no impact on healthy cells. ·
CooLifting Gun treatment – Unlock your skin’s potential for radiance and luminosity in just 4 minutes with the newest facial technology from Europe. CooLifting is a new facial that combines a controlled spay of carbon dioxide and a blend of hyaluronic acid and botanicals to generate beautiful results with no downtime, no injections, and no pain ·
HIFU Lifting – High Intensity Focused Ultrasonic treatment is highly recommended for men and women who wish to have the problematic areas of skin – on the face and cleavage, around the knee, along the thighs and arms – tighter, smoother and less wrinkled, without the usual disadvantages of plastic surgery: the downtime of recovery, discomfort and possible complications. HIFU treatment is exceptionally effective in lifting the skin around the eyebrows, the neck and the chin, as well as for smoothing out those stubborn crow’s feet around the eyes. Penetrating deep into the tissue, the ultrasonic waves revitalise and tighten the tired skin. Easy to successfully combine with other rejuvenating treatments, the procedure improves the general tone and texture of the skin, correcting pale complexion, and significantly putting off the need for plastic surgery when used as early as the age of 20 or 30. HIFU is an FDA-approved, personalised treatment, always administered by Dr Karatzias using medical certified equipment – your guarantee for a safe procedure. ·

Building the right regimen for your skin concerns can be a difficult task and that is why we decided to add ZO skincare as an option for our patients. With our guidance and assessment using the LifeViz 3D camera fresh, healthy skin can become a reality for you.
Breast augmentation – Nowadays, breast augmentation surgery is almost always performed with silicone implants. Besides silicone implant placement, the other technique becoming more widespread with each passing day is breast augmentation with fat injection. With breast injections, very natural and aesthetic results can be achieved by providing augmentation with the patient’s own tissue in non-sagging breast; however, keep in mind that this technique has disadvantages as well.
Some of the fat tissues injected into your breasts may melt especially in smokers, and this surgical procedure requires you to have significant amount of fat in your body, for being able to have this surgery. Breast augmentation is a deeply personal procedure, and it's important that you're doing it for yourself and not for someone else, even if that person has offered to pay for it.
Breast uplift (mastopexy) – is a surgical procedure that involves the recovery of the sagging breast tissue, removal of the excess skin, and repositioning of the nipple to a higher level. If there is a loss of volume, there is need for an implant and as such an augmentation mastopexy procedure.
Breast reduction – also referred to as reduction mammoplasty, reduces the size and improves the shape of the breasts. Typically, women who are candidates for this procedure have physical symptoms related to the weight or shape of their breasts. These symptoms include back pain, neck pain, and bra strap grooves in the shoulders. The incisions vary based on the breast size before the operation and the final post-operative size.
Abdominoplasty – also called tummy tuck surgery, surgically removes the excess skin and fat that lies between the umbilicus and the overhanging skin (or to a cesarean scar) from the abdominal area. Depending on the needs of the patient, the muscles of the abdominal wall are tightened. The incision is a half-moon shape (length is dependent on the mass of skin
Liposuction – removes areas of unwanted fat with a tube and a vacuum device. Liposuction techniques, including tumescent or super-wet, typically are performed after targeted fat cells are infused with a saline solution containing a local anesthetic and adrenalin to decrease blood loss. Benefits of this liposuction technique include increased safety, easier fat removal, as well as diminished postoperative discomfort. This also reduces post-operative bruising and swelling. The most common locations for liposuction are the chin, cheeks, neck, and upper arms, the area above the breasts, abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, knees, calves, and ankles.
Brachioplasty – The surgical rejuvenation of the upper arms remains a persistent problem for both the patient and the surgeon, despite the many techniques that have been proposed for its improvement. The goal of the arm lift (brachioplasty) is to reduce skin redundancy and to reduce the circumference of the arm. When there is good skin tone or minimal skin sagging, fat deposits can be reduced by liposuction. But marked skin redundancy or laxity can only be improved by surgery. The incision has to be placed in an axillar crease and in the internal aspect of the arm along a line extending from the axilla to the epicondyle of the elbow. Then a piece of skin-dermis and fat is removed and the subcutis and skin are closed using routine aesthetic suturing. Good and stable results can be achieved in young patients with adiposities and good skin tone as well as in adults of older age, sometimes with the help of several months of postoperative elastic compression.
Nipple and/or areola reduction - Some women - and even men - develop excessively long nipples or wide areolas. This can be due to heredity, pregnancy, or plain bad luck. The nipples can be reduced either by cutting off the tip or by removing some skin at the base of the nipple. Also excessively wide areolas are reduced by removing a donut-shaped ring of skin from the periphery of the areola and suturing it smaller. However, this leaves a permanent circular scar around the areola.
Labiaplasty – Reduces the length of the labia minora. The goal of the procedure is to reduce the labia minora so that they don’t hang below the hair-bearing labia majora. A labiaplasty may be performed to reduce asymmetry when one is longer than the other, or, more commonly, to reduce the length of both labia so that the labia no longer twist, tug or fall out of a bathing suit.
Gynecomastia correction for men – The fat deposition in male breast, and/or increased breast tissue in men. Young people with gynecomastia are quite obsessed in this regard, and this can lead to serious psychological problems. The surgical procedure has a high success rate, and provides a satisfaction rate of almost 100%.
Body Contouring - Reduces excess fat and sagging skin. For individuals that finding themselves unprepared for the dramatic effects of rapid weight loss surgery (as a result of stomach stapling or gastric bypass), body contouring provides a solution. Following major weight loss, the skin remains dramatically stretched, unable to return to its natural elasticity. Body contouring targets the shape of underlying tissue that supports fat and skin. Body contouring is the process in which excess sagging fat and skin is removed from the body.
Buttock Lift - is a procedure that reshapes the buttocks by reducing excess skin, and depending on the patient’s individual needs either reducing or increasing the amount of fat in the buttock, resulting in smoother skin and a firmer, rounder, better-proportioned contours of the buttocks. In some patients a better-shaped buttock contour can be achieved from fat injection alone (Brazilian Butt Lift, or BBL).
Thigh Lift – or thighplasty is a surgical procedure designed to tighten the skin and improve the contour of the legs by removing excess skin and fatty deposits from the thighs.
Aquafilling breast / buttock augmentation
The main component of Aquafilling is 98% physiologic solution of sodium chloride. Because it contains natural ingredients, it is highly adaptable to the soft tissues of the human body, it is well tolerated by the human body and highly safe. Being easily injectable in the soft tissue, it allows painless procedures. It is cost-effective and provides long lasting excellent results. Dr. Karatzias uses it mainly for face, breast augmentation and buttock refinement / augmentation.
Skin cancer removal and reconstruction – A cancer diagnosis is very difficult to accept. Understanding that treating your skin cancer may result in scars or disfigurement can also be troubling. Dr Karatzias understands your concerns and will guide you through treatment and explain the resulting effect on your health and appearance. Skin cancer, much like any form of cancer, may require surgery to remove the cancerous growth. Dr Karatzias can surgically remove cancerous and other skin lesions using specialized techniques to preserve your health and your appearance. Although no surgery is without scars, Dr Karatzias will make every effort to treat your skin cancer without dramatically changing your appearance.
Scar revision surgery - will attempt to minimize a scar so that it is less conspicuous and blends in with the surrounding skin tone and texture. Scars are visible signs that remain after a wound has healed. They are the unavoidable results of injury or surgery, and their development can be unpredictable. Poor healing may contribute to scars that are obvious, unsightly or disfiguring. Even a wound that heals well can result in a scar that affects your appearance. Scars may be noticeable due to their size, shape or location; they can also be raised or depressed, and may differ in color or texture from the surrounding healthy tissue.
Chronic Wounds / Ulcers – Non-healing, or chronic wounds, are complex wounds that do not progress through the usual phases of healing. This can be caused by intrinsic or extrinsic influences and all age groups or patient types from the healthy to those with multiple comorbidities can be affected. Wound healing is a complex and dynamic process of restoring cellular structures and tissue layers.
Diabetic Foot treatment – Some people with diabetes also have lower extremity arterial disease, a condition that reduces blood flow to the legs and feet. This may prevent a foot injury from getting the nutrients it needs, delaying healing. Debridement is a procedure used to clean out dead or infected skin and tissue from a foot ulcer. It allows Dr Karatzias to assess the extent of the soft tissue damage and encourage healing. To perform this procedure, the doctor uses a sharp tool, such as a scalpel, to remove tissue from within and around the wound.
Lipoma / Cyst removal – Small Cysts or Lipoma (e.g. less than 5mm) don’t usually need treatment, but can easily be removed by a minor surgical procedure. Larger ones tend to be removed because they are visible or because they have become inflamed. Both are treated by surgical excision, where a small surgical opening into the skin is made to remove the lesion. This is done under local anesthetic by Dr. Karatzias and will require stitches which will need to be removed 7-10 days later.
Lacerations / traumas reconstruction - after falls, motor vehicle accidents, sporting injuries, dog bites or work related injuries. Repair of lacerations throughout the body is one of the most common services provided by Plastic Surgeons and Dr. Karatzias is pleased to offer this service to adults and childs.
Defect reconstruction using skin grafts or flaps - Skin grafts are often employed after serious injuries when some of the body’s skin is damaged. Flap surgery is a piece of tissue that is still attached to the body by a major artery and vein or at its base. This piece of tissue with its attached blood supply is used in reconstructive surgery by being set into a recipient site (injured area onto which a flap or graft is placed).
