Clinical Dietitian / Nutritionist
Nicoleta Papadopoulou is a Registered Clinical Dietitian (RD), currently providing nutritional/dietetic advice through private practice. She advises clients on weight loss/ weight gain and provides individualized meal plans as well as consultations for conditions requiring nutrition therapy such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, digestive issues, kidney disease, cancer, osteoporosis, eating disorders, infant/ child nutrition etc. In addition, Nicoleta, in an effort to educate the general public about various nutritional issues, continually accepts opportunities to talk at various community events.
Through her private practice Nicoleta also collaborates extensively with a number of nursing homes, clinics and homecare agencies in Cyprus where she works together with other multidisciplinary team members to identify and manage nutritional issues of patients. Furthermore, she makes recommendations for appropriate therapeutic diets, provides patient education and nutrition support. Through her outpatient collaborations Nicoleta has worked extensively with dysphagia patients, wound care, oncology patients as well as patients requiring enteral/ parenteral feeding regimens.
At the moment Nicoleta is also a part- time lecturer at the University of Nicosia and is involved in teaching and mentoring students during their internship rotations. In addition she is also an associate of Paedi Center for Specialized Pediatrics where she counsels children and their families and provides specialized meal plans.
As well to holding the RD credential, Nicoleta also holds the Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist credential (CDN). Nicoleta’s degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of California Santa Barbara and a Masters in Clinical Nutrition from New York University. She has completed her internship at one of America’s most renowned hospitals, Mount Sinai in New York City and further continued to work as an RD at the Mount Sinai Hospital Queen’s division. Her background in dietetics and biochemistry, as well as her work experience has helped her acquire the necessary knowledge in order to succeed in providing well rounded professional advice.
